CATERING SERVICES


Baberton Golf Club, located in Juniper Green on the south-west outskirts of Edinburgh, is seeking applications from suitable persons to run the catering facilities at the Club.

It is quite possible, by mutual agreement, that the chosen applicant will be responsible also for the bar service if this helps to develop both the bar and catering turnover at the club.

Baberton Golf Club has over 900 members with many living in the local Baberton Mains, Juniper Green, Currie and Balerno areas. We moved into our new, custom built clubhouse in 2013 and are primarily a members’ club which also welcomes visiting parties and functions organised by members.

The dining room can be separated from the main public area by a folding partition and accommodates some 40 covers at any one time with space for an additional 40 to be seated in the lounge bar area. Food is also served in the adjacent casual bar. At present, food served in the bar areas tends to be from a “snack” menu, with the dining room providing the more formal selection.

The Club is seeking a caterer who will build on the current customer base, providing members and visitors with varied menus offering high quality food both during playing hours and in the evenings. The successful applicant will be expected to possess the vision and drive to make a major contribution to developing the use of the clubhouse and increasing revenues from the catering and the bar services.

Applicants with suitable skills and experience are invited to submit a brief review of their background and their proposals for providing this service. Although previous golf club experience is not essential, we would expect applicants to be familiar with the demands and expectations of members and visitors in a club or similar environment.
