Diary Event

The Golf Foundation, in partnership with the home unions, England Golf, Scottish Golf and Wales Golf and the support of the European Tour, have developed GolfSixes Leagues.

The objective is to provide more playing opportunities for young golfers who are learning golf and for those who are new to golf club membership. It will be introduced alongside the regular coaching sessions and current playing opportunities that are in place at the club.

The format is simple; teams of 6, playing 6 holes of golf using a fun pairs format called Texas Scramble. GolfSixes League is all about being part of a team and representing your club in a local league. Players in the other teams will also be entry level golfers and the emphasis is completely on having a fun, friendly competition and playing the game of golf in the correct manor. There is a ‘Skills for Life’ prominence within this format and the Golf Foundation firmly believe that golf can develop life skills in a young person. GolfSixes League can help young people to enjoy the playing and personal benefits of golf, the mission of the Golf Foundation.

Baberton are involved in our local Edinburgh League which takes place over the par 3 Swanston Templar course and the Melville Short Course.
