Dear Ladies,

Welcome to the 2015 season.
Congratulations to all the ladies who won trophies and had a successful 2014 season.
Baberton is fortunate to have a warm and friendly ladies section.

Summer Competitions

Entry forms for these (Hole-in-Hole Singles, Hole-in-Hole Foursomes, Eclectic, American and Centenary Medal Competitions) are available in the Professional Shop from Sunday 22nd February. Completed entries must be returned to the Pro shop with payment by Saturday 28th March 2015.

9 hole Medal Competitions in conjunction with SLGA Medal Competitions

These are aimed at members who wish to retain a handicap but who are time-challenged or find 18 holes too long. Tee offs for 9 hole medals will be at the end of the morning and midday draws. They will not apply to evening draws. It is hoped that this will encourage more players to enter medals and socialise in the clubhouse after their game.

A number of committees have been formed to address the major issues which arose from the forum.

I am involved with the Member Retention Group and the Customer Focus Group.

All ladies are welcome to offer any assistance which would be much appreciated.

As you are aware we have a new website. It is more user friendly and I would urge all ladies to use the website. Feedback to the club is much appreciated and we now have information at our fingertips.

Baberton is also on Facebook and Twitter. These are modern links for promoting Baberton and informing a wider audience of the new clubhouse, challenging and scenic course. We offer a welcoming and friendly ladies section.

Board Appointment

The Resolution which was put to the Club AGM by Fiona McLaren and Fiona Neave was unsuccessful. However it was very close.

My application to join the board was accepted and I am now a Board Director. As Lady Captain I will represent the Ladies Section and also the club as a whole to the benefit of all members.

The SLGA AGM was held on Saturday 7th February 2015

The vote was carried in favour of the amalgamation with the SGU by 204 – 0

The outcome of the SGU vote will be posted when this becomes available.
